Dark Minuet (Lost, but Not Forgotten) for Brass Quintet

Dark Minuet (Lost, but not Forgotten) was commissioned as part of a suite of pieces by various composers. While Haydn’s minuets were a happy contrast from the slow movements that generally preceded them, I had in mind a darker, more contemplative mood, that evoked thoughts of lost loves, people that passed away that were dear to us, or lost things that were important in your life.  The video below is the World Premiere performance, as part of Composers Concordance & Project142 present "Brass Motion" with The Manhattan Brass Quintet & Curet Performance Project on January 31st, 2019, at The DiMenna Center - Benzaquen Hall, New York.
