Solar Rays for Jazz Big Band

The title “Solar Rays” came from an idea of two people in love, lying down in a vast green field, looking up at the sun in the clear sky, feeling the heat and seeing the clear light of the sun, which reinforced the love that they had for each other.

Solar Rays epitomizes the terms "genre-busting" and "crossover."  The original version was for a classical piano trio of Piano, Violin and 'Cello (click here to jump to the Classical Piano Trio version of Solar Rays) and now we have the Big Band version of the same piece. Both versions bring out different aspects of the music.  Both versions also received Silver Medals (Outstanding Achievement) at the Global Music Awards.

Below is the video of the World Premiere of the Big Band version of "Solar Rays", performed as part of the Composers Concordance 'CompCord Big Band’ concert, March 5th, 2018 at The Cutting Room in New York.
