Aaron Alter's String Theory for String Quartet will have its US Premiere by the CompCord String Quartet on a program entitled "CompCord and Entertaining Science" on October 1 at 7:00pm (Eastern Time.) In collaboration with the Entertaining Science series at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, Composers Concordance presents a concert combining a short lecture by renowned scientist Christina Pressl with performances by trumpet soloist Franz Hackl, drummer Jonathan Kane, and the CompCord String Quartet. In addition to Aaron Alter's String Theory, the program includes works by Lynn Bechtold, Dennis Brandner, Dan Cooper, Daniel Palkowski, Gene Pritsker, Hans Rotman, Dave Soldier and Austrian Jazz legend, Joe Zawinul.
